And in their efforts they lose their face
They played the game and got their dues
But is it worth it to kill your Muse?

Makes me think that ...

Climbing to the top is often not costless. 'Success' is all too often measured in rank and salary, and rarely weighed in the balance with others of life's rewards: love and relationships, for example.
