Leaving do

A formal moment of release.
A complete moment of peace.
To bid farewell, say goodbye.
To listen to the question, why?
Tis for me to decide my time.
Tis for me to draw the line.
My choice; to leave with grace.
No loss of pride, keeping face.
So farewell, I've done my bit.
Proud of efforts, but no fit.
Fond farewell to those here.
Those who will always be near.
Worry not what future holds.
Meet again in futures untold.

Loot

2016

Makes me think that ...

We all leave, stop, give up or retire sooner or later. Sometimes it is of our choosing and sometimes of others. We would all like to go when we are ready. As to leaving-do, well I've known them hated and hotly awaited. It is a marker in or of a our time in work. Leaving-do, by Loot, is of a moment chosen.
